The UGC has taken a policy decision to direct all higher education institutions to establish IQACs for which it has decided to provide seed financial assistance. The internal quality assurance mechanism of the institution is called “Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)”. The IQAC may channelize and systematize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence. This mechanism helps in planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the College.
Haflong Government College has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell with appropriate structure and processes to meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders. The IQAC of the College is re-constituted in March, 2013 under the chairmanship of the Principal. He is assisted by Dr. (Mrs.) Thangkim Haolai, Associate Professor & HOD as Coordinator. This Cell has been making great effort to motivate and guide the students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college to achieve quality excellence. Some of the most important quality events taken up by the IQAC are the introduction of Student Feedback System and Extension Education Services in various forms benefiting the students of the college as well as the society.
